Born April 3, 1974, on Earth
Mother, Daniel’s father is renowned Ojibway artist Norval
Morrisseau and his mother is Czech. Daniel was educated in
Europe and speaks several languages. Daniel currently resides
and paints near Vancouver, British Columbia.
“In honor to my father and my people,
Pitchegigwaneh, Man Became Thunderbird, is the name given to me
by my father, the Grand Shaman. My father brought the past to
the present, I am taking the present and putting it to the
future, caring for, and holding it for the next generations. My
inspiration is from my experience, my dreams, and my people. I
am proud to be Anishnabe. I see things for what they are.

I paint from the inside.
I’m painting the spirit of my people and of it all. I see the
bright colors of our being, the strength and hope. Any person,
who believes, feels and opens their eyes, sees the powerful
images. Real color has strong healing power. It is up to us all
to heal, and make the world better for our grandchildren. I
believe.”
